“Can you go full throttle in the last corner?” was one of the many questions some of the 30+ students attending the first “A la Kart Open” introduction event were asking. Enthusiasm for karting and motorsport drew quite a large crowd for an evening of karting and racing in the rental karts at Karbaan Oldenzaal. Roaring at up to 75 km/h many a student got their first taste of what karting is all about.
After being greeted by the board and a short drivers briefing, the people were split into two groups for one training session, then a qualifying session, with a fullblown race with formation lap and standing start for the fastest 10 drivers to round off the evening’s track activities.
The students were then shown A la Kart’s Praga race karts with Honda GX390 engines at the shed and told about the activities of the association.
